Everyone says they called it. Almost nobody can prove it.
The day this one opens itself
Write down what you think happens, pick the date you find out, and let it sit somewhere you cannot reach it.
A tweet can be deleted at 2am by the person who posted it. A screenshot can be made in Photoshop in four minutes. A sealed prediction is a different kind of object: the text is locked the second you write it, the date is locked with it, and the only thing that can open it is the date arriving.

What the seal takes away from you
Including from you
- Edit the text
- The claim is hashed at the moment you seal it. Changing one character changes the hash, and the old one is already written. A prediction that quietly becomes a better prediction is the thing this exists to stop.
- Delete the entry
- There is no delete. Not for you, not for support, not for us. The misses stay next to the hits because a record with the bad ones removed is not a record.
- Backdate the seal
- The timestamp comes from the block your seal landed in, not from your machine. You cannot claim on Friday that you knew on Monday.
- Unseal it early
- The reveal is gated on the date you chose. Watching it go badly and opening it anyway is not available, and neither is waiting a week past the date to see which way the wind blew.

Sealing one takes about twenty seconds
No opponent, no stake, no market
- Write the claim in one sentenceIt has to be the kind of thing that is clearly true or clearly false later. "Arsenal finish top two" works. "Arsenal look good" does not.
- Pick the date you find outAnything from a week to ten years. The date is part of the claim, so choosing a soft one is its own kind of answer.
- Seal itThe hash goes on chain with the date. Costs a cent or two. You get a link that shows the hash and the countdown and nothing else.
- Post the link now if you want the credit laterNobody can read it. They can see that you sealed something and when it opens, which is the part that makes people look.
- It opens on its ownThe text appears next to your record and your hit rate moves, in whichever direction it moves.
Most sealed claims open and settle themselves. Some need a human: the claim was ambiguous, the source disagrees with itself, the event half happened. Holders are the ones who get called to rule on those, they are paid out of the resolution fee for doing it, and a ruling that gets overturned on appeal costs the ruler their share. Holding is a job you can be bad at, not a coupon.

You already have a record. It is just scattered across group chats and deleted posts and the memory of people who were not listening.
